here's a taste of the kindness of my friends, my community.
the new friend, the one who drove us to the ER and sat with me as i anxiously waited for a doctor before she had to head home with her sleepy 3-year old.
the supportive one who came in an instant with comfort items for the little dude. she eased my nerves and sat with me into the late hours at the ER, without her, i am not sure i could have stayed so strong. she bared witness and the next day when my mind was a blur, it was so important to have her to recount the night with. and her son, who a few days later proudly gives the little dude a starfish, knowing how much he loves them. this little blue starfish now sleeps in his bed.
my dear seattlemamcita and G, making their way in the rain the very next day, bringing a stuffed black kitty named *stitches* to the little dude who ADORES kitties. stitches (or stitchit as he calls her), has not left his side since, and he informed me that "she makes him feel better".
the thoughtful note from that same friend enlisting the help of the neighborhood co-op for a weary mama.
the helpfulness of a nearby neighbor and new friend who replied to the request with an offer to run to the store for me (to which i sheepishly agree) and delivered 2 bags of groceries to my doorstep, that would fill my empty fridge.
the generosity of a sweet ally, who prepared and delivered a delicious homemade meal (and a new toy train), while taking care of her family of three little ones, her gesture, gave me the much sought after extra time to spend with my little dude.
such a sisterhood. a rockin' sisterhood. thank you.

I agree with Sieber that you're just reaping the good harvest of what you've been sewing, my friend.
