so much happening at once. growth. a boy growing, soon to be 5. a man leaving for an adventure, sure to bring growth. a friend hurting, more growth. me, listening, watching, learning...growth. so many feelings within me. i'm awake.
lately i am faced with the fact that no matter how much growth we achieve, we still have more to go. whew. this is good and at times, incredibly difficult. in the presence of another i find myself experiencing growing pains. initially, these feelings are a bit unwelcome. but once accepted, invited, felt and reflected on, they are a welcome relief. so good to grow. so good to feel. so good to think outside my life, outside my own experiences. so stimulating to visualize new places and paths. i'm smelling a soul, drinking in the divine differences, feeling the sameness. moments of standing steady in the rushing water, only to willingly let go and be taken on a ride i can guide, but not control. there are times i tell myself if only, this...then this. i spent (and still do on occasion) so much time thinking if only i had this or could do this, i'd be happy. control. but really? really does that bring happiness? in thinking the next thing will bring happiness i just lost the happiness that may have been freely given to me in the moment. movement is important, stillness is a necessary component.
without impermanence, movement, life is not possible. how can we transform from our experiences if things are not impermanent? wow. so much to process. so much to feel. learning to let go. with impermanence, every door is open for change. it is the path to our freedom. move. be still.

isn't this the beautiful truth.
I needed to read this.
So very, very much.
To moving.
To being still.
To the space between.
