it's hard being 5, especially when you've got a mama who doesn't let you watch videos all day, go to the park in pajamas, or eat cookies for breakfast. makes you brush your teeth and wash your face. and of course when you're exhausted and wipe out while walking out the door for the library, you clearly must SCREAM at your mama, and shout with all your might...I DON'T LOVE YOU mama. i really don't. wow baby, those are cold words that hurt my feelings. it seems like you're feeling bad and you want me to understand how that feels. but i know you love me, just like i always love you no matter if you're happy, sad, angry or feeling mean. HMMMMM his methodical mind starts ticking. hurt your feelings eh? oh boy this new found power of words is exhilarating. i can make my mama feel bad just like i do or sad, just like i do. incredible! i think i'll try it out again tonight just moments after she returns home from spending all day away from me at that place called work. and just to be sure i've really delivered the punch, i'll say it one more time when i'm told to join her for dinner. yep. mama, i can stop loving you. i can mama. to be sure she understands, i'll hug and kiss her while i deliver the sting.
it's hard to be 5. it's hard to be the mama.

This wasn't supposed to make me cry, I don't think, but it still did. Why is it our human nature to hurt the ones that we love the most? That's the question I'll never understand. Your title is correct, though, there is so much power there that we can't resist it. xoxo
Like a razor sharp stab to the heart, those words. Tears pricking up on eyes just hearing it. Power is power, just to our nature. Oh sweet boy. Love you.
why do they have to learn about power? i always wonder where it comes from this need to have one over someone. oh little rye rye i love how he hugged you as he said it..
5 does sound rough. for the mama especially. viva mothering!
