eve of 39

perhaps aging doesn't mean all things in our lives come together, which in my case would be a relief, since, often times just as it seems things are coming together, something comes loose, like a thread that you pull only to find it doesn't come out it just keeps unwinding and slowly all those things i thought i'd sewn up tight begin to come apart. life can be so messy, so organic and imperfect. seattlemamacita shared this quote tonight, on the eve of my birthday. it was so timely, more than she knows. it wrapped me in a warm hug and provided me with a great sense of comfort and peace.

here's to walking through this next door, taking steps unsure of where they may lead...here's to the unraveling and revealing. welcome 39.

"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations." - Anais Nin

I think you are even more beautiful now than you were at 36, so you are glowing more with every year. Here's to weaving the fabric, strong and sturdy, that will envelop you for years to come. Love you, kindred spirit and sister of the birthdays...

Wow, that quote speaks to me, too, as I find myself growing in exactly that way.

um, beautiful post and all, but 39?!

No.
Freaking.
Way.

When I saw your pics, I was like, how can a 12 year old write so beautifully?

Here's to welcoming it...but 40 is going to be a biatch for me, no matter how hard I try to be welcoming.
