moments ago on facebook i commented on my friends wall, my childhood friend who now resides in japan. he had announced that he was watching big flakes of snow come down and was planning to ski some fresh powder.
i let him know i was envious, wishing we had snow, but that instead i was watching the rain fall from my window....minutes later, the rain became (and continues to be) HUGE, fluffy white flakes of snow. tons and tons of snow swirling and falling all around. it is as if there is a snow maker right outside my window. the universe heard us, the small voices in seattle.

"look little dude, there is snow, it is winter baby."

I will never be too old to enjoy the pure magic of snow. Loved it today... just gorgeous.
Nothing makes me feel more like a kid than the first snow of the season. I think that is why I insist on living somewhere that gets snow. Austin sure was nice, but seriously...no snow. Ever. I love the hats, the coats, the boots, rosy cheeks, the whole thing. Glad you got some of the magic too.
we had a blast making a snowman although he melted hours later. Love these pics
Maybe Bub sent some snow your way. He demanded repeatedly yesterday that I send the snow back up to the sky. When I explained that we really can't do anything about snow he replied, "Yes you can, Mama. You can do anything about snow. You can do anything if you want to!" (I knew there was a downside to letting him watch so many peppy TV shows.)
There is something about snow, isn't there? How everything just looks new and fresh and full of hope?
May you find snow whenever you need it, sister.
NICE!!
Snow is so wonderful on so many levels. I look forward to the next winter already where I will be shoveling my neighbors snow and smiling while doing it and smiling even more when they come out in surprise that someone so crazy would shovel their snow for them. :)
