a journey is about to begin. this trip will grow hearts, minds, spirits, awareness, compassion and much more. it is a trip of both physical and emotional endurance. so much energy and thoughtful planning has gone into this. 3 incredible paddlers. 3 gorgeous boats. the team is strong, mindful and grateful. each bring such gifts. such balance to the whole. the chemistry is perfectly aligned. to say they are about to begin isn't exactly accurate. though departure time is drawing near, this adventure has been underway for some time now. a note from mathew one of the paddlers, (my paddler) to those he knows and loves...hope you will take a look and wish them well. many hearts will eagerly await the signals from SPOT as we track their progress on this incredible adventure. i will be updating their site with their location each time i receive notice. i encourage you to leave comments on their blog as it will serve as a live journal and record of this amazing experience.

Hi everyone! Hope this finds you well. I wanted to share of an upcoming trip in the works, and a lot of links. ;)

On May 21st I'm flying to Anchorage for an incredible journey and purpose. Matt Nelson, Djuna Mascall and I are attempting to circumnavigate the Kenai Peninsula via sea kayaks. Matt and Djuna are 2 of my friends from Orcas Island.

We are raising money and awareness for the Cook InletKeeper and Prince William SoundKeeper, two non-profit organizations working to protect the watersheds of the Kenai Peninsula. Over 50% of the world's salmon are harvested from the waters these organizations protect.

Our 500-mile long journey will begin late-May in Portage, AK in the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet, and conclude in Whittier, AK in Prince William Sound in early July.

These waters are the most incredible waters any of us have ever paddled - full of rich marine life. We expect to see so many types of whales, sea lions, and brown bears! I'm a little scared to be honest, quite nervous, but super excited.

We are planning to shoot a lot of pictures and video, and then stitch a story together after we get back. We'd like to get the word out to as many as possible through email, symposiums, YouTube, etc.
