better than books

i always love my evening walks with the little dude. they don't happen every night, usually just on night's like tonight. warm breeze, sunshine and neither of us ready to end our night together.

on tonight's walk (both of us with pinwheels in hand, spinning and flickering in the sun) i pointed out the ginormous monkey tree in our neighborhood. (that is what they're called right?) he then told me this story...which topped anything i would later read to him before bed.

oh wow, that is a big tree i wish i could climb that tree WAY up to the top, then i would REEEEACH up and catch a star, and then the moon would come by and i'd catch her too. then the clouds would go by and i could catch them too. it would be a party. it's windy so i'll bring my pinwheels, yep all my pinwheels, except the big huge one, but all of them, even sunflower pinwheel. they all want to come up the tree to spin. it will be dark out, because it has to be night time for the stars and moon to come by. but that's okay. yep, later tonight...after jammies and dancing, that's what i'll do.

yes baby, you will... sleep, dream, and have the best monkey tree party ever.

Those monkey trees are my favorite. I've longed to climb them as well. Great story, beautiful love.
